OLD work and most importantly SOLD work =(

I really miss this piece and wish that I hadn't sold it so cheaply.

But the fact was that 400 euros back then was the only way for me to buy food that week so I had no choice.

I really hope the owner takes good care of it. I heard he said that he's going to have it framed which still makes me cringe when I think about it.

Oil on canvas 1mx1m

I'd buy it back if I had the chance and would take a better photo of it. I had a really crappy camera back then so I'm sorry for the image quality.

you still have to foto reference, you could try to do a second piece, and look if you can improve it or continue it ? but it has very vibrant interesting colours indeed. I like it.

I can understand how you feel. That is truly an amazing piece of work. Who knows? Maybe Obama will buy it and donate it to my school. I could steal it and send it to you, by secret courier with a code word......

Um, I digress. What a silly idea But a girl can dream.....

I do think it's a very well done piece.

It is an awesome piece of work. I can understand how you are feeling having sold something you care for so much. My suggestion would be to possibly try to create something like it, call it a variation in the series. Just a thought.

Thank you for your comment. I thought about your suggestion seriously for a long time. In the end I came to the conclusion that the "it" factor that I liked in this picture is really the very subtle hue changes in each brush strokes. It's hard to explain. My art teacher once described the phenomenon as the colors starting to "play music". I can paint more pieces with similar style but I must admit that luck had it's hand in the success of this image.

As usual it was piece done in a single night because it's deadline was the next day. Once again I carried a half wet canvas to school in a crowded tram. During critique I was praised for the fact that I clearly had worked on it for a long time =D

The color is simply amazing. I can understand why it would be hard to part with.

Are you aware of the humangos gift you've got!?!?!?
I added some to my favs, but in real I'd love to have them all added!!!

when I was little I did a pencil-painting and the sister of the cousin of the oncle of the exwife of our neigbour,.... bought it...
Today... well I regret to have given away my first "serious" picture. But on the other hand it gave me, back then, the confidence that there are some few people who like what I'm doing. Maybe I wouldn't paint today anymore, because of not getting any response.
There are always two sides... And sometimes you need one side to realise the other one. So, they can't live without each other.
I really can understand how hard it has to feel to have lost SUCH a picture. But at least you've got a photograph of it... and: maybe, one day, it'll come back to you! - You never know...

looking forward to more! This one is not all you can do! And the next one you'll sell will be for a moderate price!
Things ain't there to collect... they just live by passing them on! (that's my opinion to art)

Thanks. That's a sweet thought. I guess most people don't know that my paintings all go to a pile that I'm dancing on every Saturday. Seriously though if I still had it it would hang on my wall.
