Plein Air Day

I had a great vacation and it was made even more fun because I spent the last weekend with my boyfriend on an island in the middle of nowhere. I was determined to take a bit of vacation from drawing for a few days too. Without the pressure of drawing at work it was finally time to clear my head of all this "artsy stuff".

So after I had doodled my sketchbook messy in the car it was time to open my bag of gouache paints that I had stashed away in my bag (for those extreme emergencies). I made two of these color studies that are TINY because I'm not a quick painter and the light was changing very quickly. But damn the weather was so much more beautiful than any camera can ever capture.
