In my art there are often elements of nature because I believe in the healing power of it. To me it works anyway, every time I paint it's like I'm escaping to my own hidden garden that always manages to make me happier.
(it's a bit ironic that I'm writing this in horrible fever but whatever)
Sketched from a reference pic I took. I painted the whole image using a round brush with opacity at 50%. I'm going through a face when I feel so bored with all the realistic portrait paintings. And YES I do it too sometimes, I don't think I'm better than anyone by saying this. When you see pores of skin painted exactly the same way for 1000th time you kind of stop caring. Besides you can manipulate the eye in endless ways by using the brush stroke contrast and direction. This isn't a rant, there's nothing wrong with realism. I'm sure I'll do that stuff again many times. Just for now, I hope you can enjoy the brush strokes with me.
Thanks for viewing and reading/enduring my odd descriptions.
Very beautiful and peaceful. Sorry to hear you have a fever too.

delightful! (and not just for the subject - hee hee)
I wouldn't have said i'd peg myself as a fan of impressionism until quite recently - but much like good concept art it fires the imagination to fill in the pores and other detail, meaning everyones interpretation is kind of.... well, personal
Overall I really like this work. The lighting is good, the bodyshape is well done and I am loving the way the hair moves.
The only thing that bothers me is that the edge of the face is sort of lost a little. I am not sure how to remedy that except making the highlight on it brighter perhaps. I don't know. I just feel that the face lacks something.
